Anglesite, Touissit, Jerada Province, Oriental Region, Morocco
Size: 3.3x1.9x1.6 cm
Species: Anglesite
Locality: Touissit, Jerada Province, Oriental Region, Morocco
Description: Who doesn’t love a great lead mineral? This is by far my favorite toenail sized specimen at the moment. This gorgeous lustrous undamaged bright yellow anglesite on matrix simply wows the onlooker. This comes from one of the best finds for the species which was made in the 1980’s. These specimens used to be widely available at shows but soon all the top notch specimens went into private hands. Please note that the story surrounding being able to dip colorless specimens into bleach to produce a thin amber layer of color is true. However the buyer can be assured that this yellow color is not a result of that process. Ex. Tome Hales, Jim Bey '98
