Description: A sharp scalenohedron crystal of colorless and gemmy calcite; a great Swedish specimen. The Malmberget area has been mined for iron ore since 1741, and iron is still being extracted to this day in the forms of magnetite and hematite. In fact, the whole town of Malmberget (over 5,000 people) had to be moved between 2020 & 2021 due to mining activity in the area.
