Fluorite, Minerva No. 1 Mine (Ozark-Mahoning No. 1 Mine), Ozark-Mahoning group, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
Size: 9.0x6.8x6.0cm
Species: Fluorite
Locality: Minerva No. 1 Mine (Ozark-Mahoning No. 1 Mine), Ozark-Mahoning group, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
Description: This fluorite specimen is of nice size with a large cube the largest of which measures 5.7cm on edge. The specimen does have a bit of damage but his is easily made up by the excellent color. Very odd blue color that is not often seen in Illinois fluorite. This one has what I would call almost cobalt blue with a purple core.
