Native Copper, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA
Size: 17x10.5x6.5cm
Mineral: Native Copper
Locality: Keweenaw Peninsula Michigan, USA
Description: A fabulous large specimen of sharply crystallized copper crystals standing at 17cm tall with single spinel twin crystals measuring up to 5.3cm. This is a wonderful collector quality specimen combining both a historic and sought after locality with great aesthetics. The luster is fantastic in my opinion. This specimen was originally lacquered (as many were) when it came out of the mine however over time this has begun to break down allowing the specimen to slowly oxidize and acquire a beautiful patina. This specimen was deaccessioned from a previous museum and has the original label that will be provided upon purchase. Additionally this specimen comes with a custom milled and labeled acrylic base for display purposes.
Please feel free to contact me for more photos or videos of the specimen.
